WARNING!
Inspectors ÚKZÚZ repeatedly come across the findings of unauthorized fake ISPM 15 marks on pallets as well as other wooden packaging material (WPM). All exporters using WPM should be aware of serious consequences at import check outside the EU following the use of illegible, incomplete, unauthorized or forged marks.
The exporter using a non-compliant WPM or fake mark risks an interception at the border check and re-forwarding of the whole consignment to the country of dispatching; the consignment may also be treated or reloaded, charging the exporter indeed, as it does not meet import requirements.
There are several photos showing the pallets bearing fake ISPM 15 marks at the bottom, all of them unauthorized by ÚKZÚZ. As the ISPM 15 logo is internationally protected trademark, these examples may be also concluded as violation of the intellectual property law.
ÚKZÚZ recommends paying attention to not only WPM quality and marking but the origin of the marks too to all exporting and transporting companies. The WPM fake marks may include a number of another authorised enterprise then the provider or an entirely made-up number out of official sequence. Fake marks are very often accompanied with finding of pest presence at WPM which is officially prosecuted at import as serious infringement too.
The list of officialy authorized facilities under ÚKZÚZ registration can be found at www.ukzuz.cz.
