LPIS
Since 2004 the administration of subsidies has been using the geographic information system, the Land Registry-LPIS (Land Parcel Identification System), which records the agricultural land used.
As of 10 October 2017, a total of 3 562 348 ha of agricultural land was used in the CR, i.e. 84.3 % of the total agricultural land resources of the Czech Republic. The register serves not only to verify the information given in applications for grants related to agricultural land, to check compliance with the conditions of these subsidies, but also for registering organic farming, the growing of genetically modified varieties and for exercising
the right to a refund of excise tax for “green diesel”. Recently the register has been expanded to include environmental data.
