Illegal Establishment's Banning

Jan 24, 2012

The Czech Agricultural and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) banned illegal food production in Prague 4 19 January 2012.

In cooperation with the Police of the Czech Republic, CAFIA carried out today morning an inspection at premises which were used for illegal production in Prague 4, Na Borovém 4/341.

The inspection revealed that operators who make rice rolls with meat for consumers in the Saparia market have not got relevant authorization for their activities (trade licenses). Hygiene requirements in the basement premises, where the establishment is situated, were completely unsatisfactory.

CAFIA has imposed a ban on putting 2 472 kg rice rolls and other unprocessed ingredients into circulation, which means about 500 kg of rice and 100 kg of meat. The Inspection Authority has also banned using these premises for food production. The suspended food will be passed into a rendering plant for disposal.
